In fact, there are some differences and it is worth paying attention to understand them. Therefore, it is also important that you know the definitions described in the framework guide, as we will see below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isaca.org\/resources\/cobit\">CobiT 5 framework<\/a> makes a clear distinction. That is, since these two disciplines cover distinct types of tasks, they require different organizational structures and serve opposite purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, it is important to be aware of the CobiT 5 version. It deals with a corporate business and management model for governance. Its version includes the management of IT corporate. In addition, it records five principles and defines the seven components that make up the model.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Therefore, notice the design and its divisions. At the top, there is the need for business, as input for Governance and Management.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Governance domain, there are three practices: Evaluate, Direct and Monitor (EDM).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Management domain, there are management practices such as Planning &#8211; with the acronym APO (Align, Plan, and Organize). Building &#8211; with the acronym BAI (Build, Acquire, and Implement). Executing &#8211; with the acronym DSS (Deliver, Service, and Support). And MEA (Monitor, Evaluate, and Assess), which represents Monitoring.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The process in CobiT 5<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CobiT 5 framework makes a clear and vital distinction between governance and management, through a parallel with the content presented before, as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Governance <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ensures that the desires, conditions, and options of stakeholders are evaluated to determine a balance in accordance with the objectives to be achieved by the company. Defining directions, through priorities and decision-making, monitoring performance, compliance, and progress in relation to the direction and agreed objectives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Management plans, builds, executes, and monitors activities that are aligned with the direction defined by the Board, in order to achieve the company&#8217;s objectives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Therefore, remember from now on that Process Facilitators differentiate each associated activity, both in Governance and Management.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this article, I will provide an overview of the difference between IT Governance and IT Management.
